On 7/6 I had a 3man all day wreck trip with Blackfish Doug, Bill and Pat. The 3 experienced fisherman enjoyed one of the best bites of quality seabass we have had all season. Bills goal was to land a personal best catch of 25 keeper seabass in one trip. Before 1pm Bill was admiring his 25 fish limit of big knuckle heads. While landing their 75 fish limit the 3 anglers also caught 5 cod and a dozen nice blackfish. The blacks were all released as were the cod except for the fat 22 incher that made its way to the box. This will be a day we all remember as summer time seabassing at its finest. Today I ran an ocean/bay combo with Guy,Tom and Joe. This would be the first time wreckfishing for the group. It did not take them long to get the feel for it as keeper and short sea bass were flying over the rails. The guys boxed 30 nice fish for a jumbo bag of fillets before lunch when it was time to give the bay fluking a go. The bay fluking was on fire with rods bending one after another. The anglers had plenty of nice 16 to 17.5" fish until Guy put the hook to a sweet 21" 3.1lber. A great day spent with some great guys. The summer fishing has been about as good as it gets with great numbers and awesome quality fish. We still have a few dates left in July to get in on the fine fishing. We post pictures of all trips and not just "reports of great fishing". After July 15 we start targeting jumbo blackfish on our ocean wreck trips. We have a few spots open on our open boat trips for next week. Please call or email for more details. thanks for looking

The seabassing has been very good both in terms of quality and quantity. On 7/4 it was Frank,Shelly and Abe looking to hit the inshore wrecks. We were greeted at the inlet with some bumpy seas so we set up on a spot close by. The guys had a pick of nice size fish along with plenty of shorts. When the seas laid down a bit we set off to a little deeper water and were rewarded with a nice catch of very fine quality fish. These were beauties that averaged 15" and larger. Nice fish for any time of year let alone July 4th. The experience anglers slugged away putting 56 keepers seabass in the box up to Franks jumbo 3.1 lber and 8 tasty ling. They also had plenty of short seabass and out of season blackfish to keep them busy. A great group of guys that were a lot of fun the be with. Today I had 3 anglers from Cafe L back to the seabass grounds. We tried a different area and were rewarded with an outstanding catch. The charter had steady action and boxed a 3 man 75 seabass limit early along with a 22" codfish and 2 ling. Not the quality fish of yesterday but enough large fish to keep everyone happy. A nice showing of larger blackfish to 6lbs and short codfish also today.Check out the gallery for some great pictures of all catches. Please call or email for more info on any trips we offer.
