Seaside Park Summer Fishing
Saturday, 03 July 2010

Schools out and summer has arrived to Seaside Park. The fishing has been very good. On 7/2 I had a 3man charter of Boilermakers from Local 13 out for an all day wreck trip. The first drop produce some great action with plenty of keeper seabass. The 3 anglers managed to box 50 nice fish with just a few small adjustments on that one piece. A short run out to a little deeper water topped the guys 75 seabass limit and 2 fat ling were added as a bonus. We had more 12.5 to 13" fish but enough 15" plus stuff to keep everyone smiling. Today I had Gene and his son Jules  out for a father and son ocean combo trip. A quick stop in the bay produced some slow action with a fish and a few bites. We had planned the trip around the tides and did not expect much so we did not waste much time knowing the bite would be much better later in the day. A run out to an area of ocean that had great fishing yesterday was very disappointing and only produced a few fish. A move of a few miles produced the action we were looking for. The father and son team enjoyed some fast action with a nice mix of short seabass and keepers. Lots of smiles and laughs. When it was time to pull the hook and head back to the bay for some light tackle fluking the 2 anglers had 18 seabass to 2lbs in their cooler and releasing  several dozen short fish.  Once in the bay we broke out the light tackle  and found a good bite with the first long drift producing 10 fish. The guys picked away until the had enough fun and were ready to call it a day. Jules did a fine job steering "Fishguts" on our return home. Another great day spent with some great people. Like I always say, I think I enjoy the father and son trips more than the charters. We are now booking our one of a kind "Bounty of the Bay" family trips for August. These trips are a great way to get the kids out for a days fishing at a great price. Trips are planned for when the bay fishing is very good so the young ones should have plenty of action reeling in fish and not just drifting around.  Get them hooked young and they will be anglers for life. Please call or email for more info on any trips we offer. Thanks for looking and check out the gallery for more great pictures from all our trips.

Seaside Park fishing combo trip
Tuesday, 29 June 2010
Today's trip leaving form Seaside Park was planned to be and ocean /bay combo trip. On the combo trips we spend our day fishing in both the bay and the ocean for a nice mixed bag of fishing (and catching). The crew consisted of 3 experience fisherman Hughe,Angelo and Tom. First stop was out to the inshore wrecks to get enough tasty seabass for a few meals.  As soon as the motor was shut off the anglers had nice fish coming over the rails. Some good size stuff today with plenty of short seabass and good size blackfish mixed in. We even had  a few mystery fish that were  bending rods and pulling plenty of drag but never made it to the boat. At 10 am the guys said they had plenty of seabass in the box so off we went to the calm protected waters of the bay for some first class light tackle fluke fishing. Prior to the trip I had told the anglers that the fluking was hot with great numbers of short fish and a few nice keepers mixed in. Well the hot got hotter as the guys had 6 fish released in the first ten minutes. The 3 anglers played catch and release with some very large numbers of shorts until Hughe set the hook on a nice quality fish. He played like a pro on one of the lightest rods on the boat.  A great fish 22" and 4.5Lbs to top a great day. A real pleasure today and I look forward to fishing with these gentleman again. A few July dates remain for those looking to get in on some fast action. Please call 629combo_002.jpgor email for more details on all the trips we offer.
