Barnegat all day wreckfishing

What a difference a day can make. Some days its fishing and some days its catching. On 6/21 I had George the chef and "Uncle Carmine" out for an all day wreck trip. With some high expectations we set off in glass calm condition to an area that had produced very well earlier in the week. Even though I read a great showing of fish all day the bite was just a slow grind. Every drop would produce a few nice keepers and plenty of shorts. One wreck produce 40 blackfish from 12' to 16" that were released unharmed but lots of fun catching.  With the help of a handful of fish I landed the guys managed to put a catch of 45 keeper seabass to 2.75lbs and 4 ling in the cooler. It was a pleasure having these fine gentleman out and I am looking forward to our next trip.

On 6/22 I had boat regulars Nikki, Pat and Phil for another all day wreck trip. It was great to get Nikki back out after having to cancel his three previous trips due to weather. Today's trip was catching. The only thing that was better than the show of life on the fish finder was the knuckleheads on the hooks flying over the rail. The sea conditions were flat calm, air temp cool and the fishing was hot. From the first drop to the last fish of their 75 seabass limit the guys had great action. No real jumbos but plenty of 16 to 17" fish. Real nice stuff and lots of them. The guys also caught and released 1 short cod ,a handful of nice blackfish and plenty of short seabass.A great catch for a bunch of very good fisherman. These guys fish alot and its nice to be able to show them a day they can remember. There was no room left on the cleaning table when we piled the fish up for a picture. Check out the pic in the photo gallery. We still have a few prime dates left in July for Ocean wreck trips and our one of a kind bay/ocean combo. Please call or email for more details. Also if you would like to get in on one of our upcoming open boat 10 hour wreck trips just send an email for more details. Thanks for looking
