A few more trips on the the books with mixed results. The Barneagt Bay Fishing action has been outstanding for bluefish  in the 2 to 4 lb range. All fish are being caught on top water  in the calm protected waters of the bay. A trip out to the inshore wrecks on 6/7 was very slow due to the cold ocean water with only a dozen keepers going in the box. We are starting to see more life on the inshore grounds but the 54degree water is really keeping them from biting well.

This weeks north and east winds should help to get the bite going.  A bay trip on 6/9  had some very fine action with both fluke and blues. It was the first time this season trying for fluke in  the Barnegat area  and bite was very encouraging. In less than an hour we had 12 fluke from small postage stamp size fish to a  nice 18.5" keeper. With the addition of a 30  bluefish limit for 2 anglers and being home before lunch it made for a very good morning of fishing.  We will start running our bay fluke trips as soon as we feel that consistent good numbers can be caught on trips.
