Seaside Park Barnegat Bay fishing
Thursday, 05 August 2010
Plenty of wind and plenty of fish. On 8/3 it was Wendell ,Tom and Hughe on an 8hour ocean/bay combo trip. The 3 anglers enjoyed a very good seabass bite with a good mix of shorts and keepers. After boxing  43 keepers they set their sites on blackfish. They had a fair bite of small tog with some 16" fish mixed in. The bite was a little picky and the hard south winds did not help the catch but they still put 3 nice fish on ice and released over a dozen more. A quick stop in the bay produced a handful of short fluke on poor tide conditions. Plenty of fillets at the end of the day and some good laughs. On 8/4 it was a family bay trip with Ed and his sons Connor and Brock. The trip started slow with a pick of fish. Once the tide started running it was game on with non stop short fluke and a nice jack mixed in. Today it was another family bay trip with dad Frank,Sam, Vicky and Stephine. Again it was slower fishing until the incoming tide brought some cooler water into the bay and got the fish snapping. The new anglers did a great job under less than ideal conditions(20mph south-winds) landing over 45 short fluke in a few hours time. The family trips are always great and make for many lasting memories. I think I enjoy them as much as the charters. We have a few open dates for late August if you are looking to get a trip in before our season ends in early Sept. Please call or email for more details. Plenty of new 83oceanbaycombo_002.jpgpictures in the gallery. Thanks for looking 856baytrips_007.jpg

Seabass and Blackfish in Seaside Park
Sunday, 01 August 2010
Is it August already? Are we still catching great numbers of quality seabass and blackfish? Yes and Yes. On 7/31 I had the pleasure of having the father and son charter of Bob sr and Bob jr out for an ocean/bay combo trip. I always look forward to the father and son trips and the special memories that are made. A stiff North breeze made to ocean a bite uncomfortable but still fish-able. The guys started the day off with a pick of good size seabass. We moved to a few different areas and covered a good bit of area finding good action but not the amout of keeper fish I was looking for. After the 2 anglers put 20 keeper seabass on ice we set our sites on the toggies. Both anglers brought their "A" games by landing both good numbers and nice size fish. After adding their limits of  22"  6.5lbs blackies to the box we moved to the bay for some catch and release fluke action the guys had a blast with the light tackle. A great day spent with some great people. Good luck Bob on your upcoming football season. Today I had Mike,Rob and Clyde out for an all day wreck trip. Clyde had high hopes of bringing home a cooler of nice bass just like his brother Curtis has already done this season. Ocean conditions were near perfect today and the anglers enjoyed a good bite with very nice quality fish. Most fish today were in the 13.5 to 15" range and  only about a dozen of the keepers needed to be measured. The guys fished hard and Clyde had the hot hand all day long. At days end the 3 anglers finished with 55 keeper seabass,1 ling,1porgie and one 4 lb blackfish. As always pictures of all trips and catches are posted in the gallery section. 81alldaywreck_003.jpgThanks for looking   731oceanbaycombo_005.jpg

Seaside Park Fishing
Tuesday, 27 July 2010

Good weather means great fishing and fair weather means good fishing. If we had the conditions the last few trips and could and fish the right areas the bite was about as good as it gets when it comes to summer time seabassing. Even on the days that we cant run to certain areas we are still putting up good numbers  of quality fish. On 7/25 I had the pleasure of having Curtis and Hazz out on an all day  open boat wreck trip. A 3rd angler had car trouble and missed a great trip. The anglers enjoyed  a nice pick of quality fish early and then hit the mother load of drop and reel fishing boxing their limits and adding a nice blackfish to the box.  A great day with some real nice guys and we even hit the dock early and missed the storms. On 7/26 it was George the chef, Ed, and Wilson back out to the wrecks. A strong North wind kept us close to home for the early part of the trip but the anglers kept busy putting some jumbo porgies to 14" and limits of blackfish in the box as we waited for the wind and sea conditions to improve. When the seas laid down around 11:30 we made a run to grab some seabass. The 3 anglers enjoyed a fair pick of mixed size fish boxing 45 in a few hours time. Trip total was 45 keeper seabass,8 jumbo porgies , and a limit of tog. The guys managed a very nice catch under poor conditions. Today we had perfect condition and an even better seabass bite. It was Matt, Bruce , Wilson enjoying on of the best bites of the season. Again no real big fish today but  lots of fat 14" going into the box. With the anglers nearing their limits I was even able to grab 25 to put an even 100 keeper seabass in the cooler. We then made a blackfish drop were Bruce put on a clinc and hammered the toggies. The guys enjoyed a nice bite of smaller fish grabbing some 16" for their limits and releasing about 20 others of mixed sizes. Great fishing for any time of year let alone July. Check out the new pictures in the gallery. Not only reports we have pictures to go with them LOL. We still have a few open dates for late August when we will also be targeting fluke on the wrecks along with the seabass and blackfish. Thanks for looking
