6/24 STC Sports Wreck charter
Wednesday, 24 June 2009

Today I had  the weekly STC Sports charter consisting of general manager Brian and  regular customers Jessie and Had. STC is my go to tackle supplier and its  great to finally get some of the guys out from the store and get them on some of this drop and reel seabassing. Condition were very nice today with light winds and just a few light showers. Fishing was even nicer than the weather. We had our best keeper ratio of the season with less than 4 to 1 with a great showing of nice size quality fish. Jessie was the hot hand at the big fish today boxing a bunch of hump backs to 3lbs. Had and Brian held there own with total numbers. The 3 of them finished the day with 69 keeper seabass to 3lbs, 3 ling, and an 18" keeper fluke. The number of short fish that were thrown back numbered in the hundreds. Lots of action on all spots we fished today. A great day to spend with some very good fisherman. Time to make the fish sweat..... the weather looks good and we will be sail daily. I will be running an open boat wreck trip next week call or email for details. Thanks for looking and checkout STC Sports www.stcsports.com for some great prices.

6/20 E McGinnis and son seabassing
Saturday, 20 June 2009
Today I had the pleasure of of having Ed and his son Connor out for a day of seabass fishing. With the poor weather we have been having it was nice to be able to get back out on the grounds again. Noaa forcast called for  good weather in the morning and deteriorating as the day wore on. They nailed it. We hit the ocean to find some left over ground swell and calm winds. Connor showed himself to be a very able fisherman and landed some nice keepers and a large out of season porgy right off the bat. The smile on his dad's face was priceless every time Connor reeled up another fish. Ed fished hard and added to the cooler on every drop. Late morning the wind and rain started and these guys stayed right at the rail and earned every fish. My hats goes off to these two fisherman. With a couple dozen keepers in the box and over a hundred short seabass released we headed to the bay to find a slow pick of short fluke.  At the end of a windy and rainy day we all had big smiles and a nice bag a tasty fillets. I 'd like to wish Connor good luck on his upcoming endeavor and am looking forward to having him and his dad back out again. Sorry no pictures this report ,had a camera problem and I am really bummed. Thanks for looking and call or email for more info  about our upcoming open boat trips.

6/18 update
Thursday, 18 June 2009

Well  the weather has really taken its toll this last week . Strong East winds  the last few days have made the ocean unfishable  for us. I ran a few bay trips for fluke and blues with mixed results. The good news is the slime grass has cleared out of most areas. The not so good news is the fish are spread out and the bite  has been some what on the slower side. The blues have been moving around alot  and some days they seem to be at every stop and others we only manage a handful. The best trip of the week was 49 fluke (1keeper @19") and 2 4lbs blues for the Blackfish Doug charter. Doug and myself are counting down the days to the July16th season opener for blackfish. All we need now is a break in the weather. Now is the time we shift into high gear and will be sailing daily weather permitting. I am starting to put a list together for open boat trips and a safari trip or two. If interested just send an email and I will contact you about all upcoming open boat trips. Thanks for looking.
