7/19 open boat big fish slam
Monday, 20 July 2009

On 7/19 I ran a full day open boat wreck trip with Ron from NY ,"20 or more keepers " Jessie, and Camera shy Lou . With glass calm conditions we set off in search of some  jumbo knuckle heads. A 2lb seabass is a very nice fish anytime of year, let alone the middle of July. Well these guys brought the "A" game and hammered the big boys  with 10 of the 66 keepers they caught over 3lbs. The biggest being Lou's 4.4lbs 23inch monster and Jessies 3.7lber. Ron came on strong late in the trip to add a few  nice jumbos to the fillet pile. A very impressive catch for  a fine group of experienced fisherman. Great weather ,good fisherman, laughing and joking, and plenty of big fish. That's about as good as it gets with summertime seabass. Yet another day we will talk about for years to come. Please feel free to call or email for any info on any one of the trips we offer. Thanks for looking

7/17 all day wreck trip
Friday, 17 July 2009

Today I had the pleasure and I mean pleasure of having Dave,Brian and Brian's son Peter out for an all day wreck trip. The weather forecast was all over the board in the last few days but we managed to get a nice window and great conditions all day. The guys  had a great time hammering away at the seabass landing some beautiful knuckle heads to 3lbs. In addition to a bunch of quality seabass they picked 4 big ling. When they felt they had enough tasty seabass fillets we set our on sights on some" now in season"  blackfish. For first time toggers these guys  landed an impressive 40 blacks to 16". We did not find the big boys yet but the numbers of very hungry 12" to 16"  fish was very encouraging. It was a great day with great conditions and an awesome group of guys. Thanks Brian,Dave and Peter  for a great day and good luck with school in the fall Peter(the tog master). I wil be running an all day "Capt Choice" open boat Friday the 24th and have 2 openings. We will be targeting seabass ,blackfish and maybe a little bay fluking. Please call or email for more info on any trip we offer. Thanks for looking

7/15 mixed bag
Wednesday, 15 July 2009

Today I had the pleasure of having Bob and his two sons ,Anthony and Micheal out for a little ocean/bay mixed bag fishing. It would be the first ocean trip for boys and conditions were very nice. Bob and the boys started catching some nice fish right off the bat and kept at it until  a case of mal de mar stuck the the boys and we decided to head to calm waters of the bay . In a short time the guys had a nice catch of seabass, porgies and a ling. Once in the calm waters of the bay both Micheal and Anthony had there dad smiling from ear to ear while  he was watching them reel in one fish after another. The group finished with almost 40 fluke with two being nice keepers of 19" . A very nice day and a great way to introduce the new angler to the wonderful experience of saltwater fishing. The bay fluking is really starting to heat up and is offering some nice options to go along with great wreck fishing we have been experiencing. Pleas call or email for more info on any trip we offer. Thanks for looking
