What a difference a day can make. Some days its fishing and some days its catching. On 6/21 I had George the chef and "Uncle Carmine" out for an all day wreck trip. With some high expectations we set off in glass calm condition to an area that had produced very well earlier in the week. Even though I read a great showing of fish all day the bite was just a slow grind. Every drop would produce a few nice keepers and plenty of shorts. One wreck produce 40 blackfish from 12' to 16" that were released unharmed but lots of fun catching. With the help of a handful of fish I landed the guys managed to put a catch of 45 keeper seabass to 2.75lbs and 4 ling in the cooler. It was a pleasure having these fine gentleman out and I am looking forward to our next trip.
On 6/22 I had boat regulars Nikki, Pat and Phil for another all day wreck trip. It was great to get Nikki back out after having to cancel his three previous trips due to weather. Today's trip was catching. The only thing that was better than the show of life on the fish finder was the knuckleheads on the hooks flying over the rail. The sea conditions were flat calm, air temp cool and the fishing was hot. From the first drop to the last fish of their 75 seabass limit the guys had great action. No real jumbos but plenty of 16 to 17" fish. Real nice stuff and lots of them. The guys also caught and released 1 short cod ,a handful of nice blackfish and plenty of short seabass.A great catch for a bunch of very good fisherman. These guys fish alot and its nice to be able to show them a day they can remember. There was no room left on the cleaning table when we piled the fish up for a picture. Check out the pic in the photo gallery. We still have a few prime dates left in July for Ocean wreck trips and our one of a kind bay/ocean combo. Please call or email for more details. Also if you would like to get in on one of our upcoming open boat 10 hour wreck trips just send an email for more details. Thanks for looking

Seaside Park bay/ocean combo trip |

On 6/19 I had the pleasure of having Mark and William out for one of our one of a kind bay/ocean combo trips. This trip was planned to be shorter than our normal trip and was to be the first time fishing for William. A stop on the bluefish grounds proved to be disappointing with only 2 fish raised. The blues appear to have shifted into there summer mode and have left the flats to feed more on bait-fish than grass shrimp. We still have some good days but not nearly the reliable action of the last month. A short shift to the deeper water produced a nice pick of fluke with William landing the first of the trip and also the first fish of his life. Well done William. Although the two anglers had fair action and landed 6 fish with a dozen more bites it was time to find some faster action. A short ride out the inlet was just what they were looking for. Before the anchor was tight both anglers rods were bent with seabass. This drop was meant more to be about action than putting fish in the cooler but the anglers managed both. In addtion to numerous short seabass that were released the two angler boxed 10 nice size knuckleheads with the top fish being a beautiful 20 incher landed by Mark. The guys also had a blast with some catch and release action on blackfish to 17" and a couple of jumbo 13" out of season porgies. These combo trips are meant to be more about good steady action than loading up the cooler and this trip fit the bill perfectly. We called it a day at 11:30 just as the south wind was coming on and headed in with smiles on our faces. From the seasoned fisherman looking at a chance to bag his seabass limit on the ocean wrecks to the father looking to take his young son out for the first time on the calm protected waters of the bay we have a custom charter to fit your needs. We still have some prime July dates available. Please call or email for more details. Check out the new pictures in our gallery. One note about upcoming pictures. Legal size porgies will be photographed from inside our coolers after 7/1 and blackfish after 7/15 because the season will be open on both. Thanks for looking.

On 6/17 I had a great bunch of guys from Phila Pa for an all day ocean wreck trip. Russel, Doug and Jonh showed their fishing skills by putting together a fine catch in less than favorable conditions. The guys stayed right at the rail hammering away at plenty of seabass as the winds built and chased us back early to the calm protected waters of they bay. It looks as though the summer fish have finally showed. The guys had fast action landing over 200 seabass to get almost fifty nice keepers for the box. The 3 gentleman showed some fine fluking skills also landing 28 flounder on a few drifts in the bay. The fluke were 12 to 17 inches but no keepers were found. A fine day and a good time .
It does appear that a new body of fish have moved to the inshore grounds in our area. Today I ran a crew trip to check out a few areas that were very unproductive in the last few weeks. Well the inn is now full and the life on the inshore grounds was amazing. Plenty of fish willing to eat and it did not take long to grab our 50 fish seabass limit. These fish are mainly 12.5" to 17" and are what we normally see this time of year along with some very large numbers of short fish. That means tons of action and some fine eating. We are now offering our full day ocean wreck trips, bay only trips, and our one of a kind combo bay/ocean trips. Please call or email for more details and check out the new pictures in the gallery. Thanks for looking
